Amber Edwards is an inspiration for other young people to follow their dreams and accomplish their goals, despite obstacles that may be present in their lives.

She first enrolled at Kaskaskia College as a young mother and has excelled in every aspect of her education and career.

Even before receiving her associate degree, Amber found full-time employment at a local hospital. But she chose to return to her alma mater in order to train other students in her chosen field of radiologic technology.

Amber Edwards accepts ICCTA's 2009 Pacesetter Award.

Now, only four years after graduating from Kaskaskia College, she oversees 80 students in the clinical education component of its radiologic technology program.

"Teaching in the same community college where I had such great admiration for my instructors has been challenging, yet so rewarding," says Edwards, teaches full-time as an assistant professor and serves as sponsor of the Student Radiology Club.
