ICCTA's newest Honorary Member is a familiar face to many in higher education. Virginia McMillan retired in spring 2005 after 22 years of outstanding service to Illinois' community college system.

As executive vice president of the Illinois Community College Board, she played a role in nearly every major initiative of the system, including the Illinois Articulation Initiative, international education, the Center for Policy Development, the performance-based incentive system, and the Illinois Century Network.

During her two decades of service, she advised and counseled five ICCB presidents and six ICCB board chairs. McMillan also served as the state board's interim president and CEO in addition to her responsibilities as executive vice president.

McMillan continues to serve the Illinois system as a facilitator for ICCB's Baccalaureate Access Task Force.
