Trustee Achievement Award
John A. Logan College
Since his election to the John A. Logan College
Board of Trustees in 1997, Jake Rendleman has used his persuasive skills and unwavering
enthusiasm to advance his school and the Illinois community college system.
An inspiring and inclusive leader, Jake has encouraged many trustees to work cooperatively and
become effective board members. Jake is not afraid to challenge them to promote the community

interests and concerns of locally elected trustees.
In addition, Jake has given freely of his talents to his local community. A business owner,
farmer and retired teacher, he has served as an alderman for the city of Carterville for
nearly 25 years.
Jake has been honored by numerous organizations, including Southern Illinois University,
the Carterville Chamber of Commerce, and the Southern Business Journal. Through his many
levels of involvement, Jake have come to personify the high standards of trusteeship set
by Ray Hartstein.
